Our Story

John De Luna (owner of De Luna’s Enterprises) journey of working in forestry began on the Baker River Interagency Hot Shot Crew, where John obtained Faller C and Tree Climbing certification in 1996.

In 2005, De Luna started his own business Semper Fi Tree Service, which is now known as De Luna’s Enterprises. The tree service was active during John’s furlough period (December-February).

De Luna worked for the Olympic National Park for sixteen years (2000-2016). During his time there, he became the lead Hazard Tree Faller and treated more than 200 trees annually in the Olympic NP.

He also partnered with other agencies, detailing to other parks and forests for hazard tree treatments.

De Luna has a goal that his nozzles will be used nationally by wildland firefighters all over the country.

He invented a series of nozzles (Quick Connect Bladder Bag Re-filler & Dual Purpose Adjustable Nozzle) that makes firefighting more efficient.

He has been on the fireline for over 34 years, and he believes that his nozzles will help firefighters save time on the line.
