Our story

John De Luna’s hazard tree work began on the Baker River Interagency Hot Shot Crew, where John obtained Faller C and Tree Climbing certification in 1996. John started his own business in 2005, Semper Fi Tree Service, which is now known as DE LUNA’S ENTERPRISES. The tree service was active during John’s furlough period (December-February). John worked for the Olympic National Park for sixteen years (2000-2016). During his time there, he became the lead Hazard Tree Faller and treated more than 200 trees annually in the Olympic NP. He also partnered with other agencies, detailing to other parks and forests for hazard tree treatments.

De Luna, while also a skilled hazard tree faller, is also an inventor. He invented a series of nozzles (Quick Connect Bladder Bag Refiller & Dual-Purpose Adjustable Nozzel) that makes firefighting more efficient.
